Golden Ground - Encaustic Painting
Sometimes I am completely captivated by our Alberta skies especially in the fall. Sunsets and sunrises in the fall produce such glorious colours of dusky purples, pinks and shadows of Payne’s grey. Often the ground looks like there are strings of gold where the rising sun hits the frosty ground. This painting was inspired by just those moments.

Drawn to Texture
It all begins layers, fusing each one together.
Wax cools quickly and lends itself to accidental lumps and bumps that form these textures.
